 Synthesites was founded in 2008 for the commercialisation of process monitoring and control systems in liquid composite manufacturing (RTM, LightRTM, Vacuum Infusion, Autoclaves) at lab and industrial scale applications. The new generation of monitoring systems, Optimold, was launched in December 2009 attracting great interest from manufacturing companies in the wind turbine blade, boat building, automotive and aircraft sectors. Using Optimold, process monitoring characteristics such as resin arrival, viscosity, gelation and Tg can be monitored during product development or production using a variety of durable and consumable sensors. Quality control issues such as mixing ratio, resin ageing and other features can be also monitored and controlled using this technology. Synthesites is a world leader in the development of industrial cure and resin arrival monitoring systems and is active in all major composite industries for the manufacturing of wind turbine blades, aircrafts, cars, boats as well as civil infrastructure e.g. bridges.
